Thermoplastic Elastomers
What are Thermoplastic Elastomers?
Thermoplastic elastomers (TPE) are polymer materials that combine the properties of both thermoplastics and elastomers. Thermoplastic elastomers are malleable when heated and solidify when cooled, making them processable like thermoplastics. They are also flexible, durable and rubber-like like elastomers.
Unlike traditional rubbers, TPEs can be recycled and reused, as they can be reshaped and retain their elasticity when reheated.
They exhibit elastomer-like flexibility and rubbery properties.
When heated, they can melt and be shaped by processes such as molding or extrusion.
Most TPEs are resistant to chemicals, ozone and UV radiation.
Thanks to its thermoplastic properties, it can be processed and recycled many times
.
Elastomer structure provides flexibility and softness.
It has high impact resistance and good shock absorption capacity.
